Petition for Membership

Your petition is received. Nothing further is asked of you.

It will be read between gatherings and answered at the address you gave. If a season passes without word, write again. It will mean the petition went astray, not that it was refused.

The petition did not go through. Something between here and the Society dropped it, or a required answer was missing.

Try it again. If it fails a second time the fault is ours, and a plain email saying so is itself a perfectly good petition.

Membership is by petition. Tell us your intention and your offering. Both may be short. Neither needs to be impressive.

There is no credential and nothing to have studied. If you have ever turned back to set something upright, you are most of the way in.

What to call you Whatever you answer to. It does not have to be the name on anything official.

Where a reply can reach you The Society writes back to this and uses it for nothing else.

Where you are A town, a valley, a coast. Optional, and the Society is not fussy about precision.

Your intention Your own business, which the Society does not inquire into beyond this box. Say as much or as little as you mean to.

Your offering, by category The nearest of the seven. If nothing fits, the last one is the honest answer and the Society would like to hear about it.

Your offering, in your own words Some capacity you are willing to put at the disposal of the other members. It need not be anything you would call a practice, and it need not be the thing you are best at.

Evidence that you have already been doing some version of this A link, a description, a photograph you would send if asked. Anything at all counts.

A shrine you know Formal or informal, standing or gone. Where it is, and what is left at it. Optional, and the part most often read twice.

How you came to hear of the Society Petitions are by formal and informal request only. If someone sent you, name them. Optional.

What you write here is read by the Society and kept by the Society. It is not sold, shared, or fed to anything. Ask and it will be deleted.
